This week, the Prime Minister will announce which parts of the economy can reopen from 4 July, as we continue to restart our economy safely, under phase three of our COVID-19 roadmap.
As we start to reopen more non-essential businesses it is vital that we do so in a way that doesn’t compromise the sacrifices made by the British people - which continue to save lives and protect the NHS. Following meetings today, the Prime Minister will announce these plans to the country and Parliament on Tuesday, as well as the results of the review into the 2-metre rule. Detailed guidance will be published for each sector so businesses that do open can be Covid Secure. We are on track to make further changes to the lockdown restrictions; however, these changes can only be brought about with the continued vigilance of the British people - with strict adherence to the guidelines. We must all stay alert, to control the virus, and save lives.
