Many things discussed and voted upon in Parliament are changes to existing laws. Some of these can be quite detailed technical changes that go unnoticed by the media.
Today, I introduced new legislation that makes changes to the laws that govern the undertaking of the National Census, which takes place every decade. It may seem that changes like this are insignificant or unimportant, but they do have a direct impact on many of our fellow citizens.
