Today I voted for the Chancellor of the Exchequer's budget package that will see tax cuts for 32 million people across our country. It will also remove more people from the tax system altogether so that those on lower incomes will not pay any tax on their wages. Alongside this, there are new measures to clamp down on tax avoidance that should see an extra £1 billion raised to fund public services.
It's disappointing that Labour MPs, led by Jeremy Corbyn, decided to vote against these changes, showing they only ever harm the people they claim to help.
