I know this will be a hugely worrying time for you, and I hope that I can reassure you that if you fall into financial difficulties as a result of Covid-19, the Government has put measures in place to help with your mortgage. This includes if you are a landlord whose tenants are experiencing financial difficulties because of Covid-19.
The Government is introducing a three-month mortgage holiday for those people in difficult, meaning that, if you need it, you will not have to pay a penny towards your mortgage while you get back on your feet. If you are concerned about your current financial situation, you should contact your mortgage lender at the earliest possible opportunity to discuss this with them. The offer of a payment holiday can be made available to customers who are up to date with payments and not already in arrears.
As you can appreciate, this is a fast-moving situation. I would strongly advise you to check the Government website, at gov.uk/coronavirus, for the very latest information about the support being made to help people through this challenging time.
