As a country, we owe a debt of gratitude to our veterans and their families for the sacrifices they have made for our nation. The introduction of a Veterans Railcard that will provide up to a third off rail travel for veterans and their families – is a small way to repay that debt.
The new Veterans Railcard will give access to those who have served in our armed forces up to a third off rail travel, for an introductory price of just £21. An estimated 830,000 veterans, who would not otherwise be eligible for a railcard, will now have access to discounted travel from 5 November 2020. Thiswill provide particular benefits for those leaving are armed services as we help them re-enter the world of civilian work, once their service is over, as well as connecting with family and friends
The UK’s military makes huge sacrifices to keep our country safe. It is only right that we continue to show how much we value their efforts once they leave the armed forces.
