Local MP and keen triathlete Brandon Lewis is taking part in the final leg of the Castle Triathlon virtual series this weekend (23/24 May) to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
With triathlon events across the country cancelled owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Castle Triathlon Team have organised a virtual triathlon series taking place over three weekends. Participants can keep fit and healthy whilst adhering to the Government’s rules on social distancing, pit themselves against fellow competitors on the live leader board and most importantly raise money for the excellent team at Macmillan Cancer Support.
As part of the Castle Triathlon virtual series, Brandon has already twice completed a 10km run, a 40km bike ride, followed by a 5k run. The most gruelling challenge is yet to come this weekend, with a 21.1km run, a 90km bike ride, and a 10.5km run to finish.
Brandon Lewis MP, who has taken part in triathlons in the past, said “this last weekend is the toughest challenge yet, but I am determined to complete this in order to show my gratitude to those who have sponsored me and generously give so much to Macmillan Cancer Support. I am thrilled to have smashed my fundraising target for such a good cause and I want to thank everyone who has kindly sponsored me.”
