Leaders from across East Anglia came together today to put forward a strong case for the government to back their calls for investment in the A47. In partnership with the A47 Alliance, I organised a meeting in the House of Commons with local government politicians from Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. Representatives from organisations like the East Anglian Air Ambulance, as well as business leaders, also attended the event.
Transport Minister, Michael Ellis MP, listened carefully to the compelling presentations demanding significant funding for improvements to this important road link. These demands included full dualling of the Acle Straight. Not only would this bring substantial economic benefits to the whole region, including Great Yarmouth, but it would significantly improve road safety.
