Great Yarmouth to receive £600,000 jobs boost

My boss, Eric Pickles, has today announced that Great Yarmouth is to be awarded £600,000 from the Coastal Communities Fund.  I, Great Yarmouth Borough Council, businesses and residents have been campaigning for this money since 2011.  Today marks the success of that campaign. Supporting Enterprise

Along with the Member of Parliament for Waveney, Peter Aldous, I am working hard to support the bid for an enterprise zone in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Such a zone would guarantee special incentives for companies in the area, including some tax exemptions from the Government. Enterprise zones aim to stimulate the economy in a localised area. Our small and medium-sized businesses would benefit enormously from this scheme and so would local residents from the extra jobs created.
