A Planning Regulation Revolution.

I  welcome the publication of the National Planning Policy Framework. Under plans announced by Greg Clark, Minister for Decentralisation, planning rules have been transformed and simplified into a short 50 page document. Previously the collected rules ran to thousands of pages. The minister also outlined new measures to free up land for housing and business development whilst removing barriers for growth and enabling sustainable development. The document goes on to include a ‘town centre first’

Meeting on A47

I have successfully persuaded Transport Minister Mike Penning MP, to hold a summit on the A47, a vital transport link. Every Norfolk MP as well as representatives from the County Council will be invited to attend, and it represents a brilliant opportunity to move the A47 up the priority list of central government. Welcoming New Homes Cash for Great Yarmouth

  The Government has given Great Yarmouth Borough Council a welcome £1/2 million boost, as part of the New Homes Bonus. The New Homes Bonus is a multi-billion pound programme that rewards communities when they accept more housebuilding in their area, with extra reward for building new affordable homes, and for getting long-term empty homes back into use. Fleggburgh wind turbines refused

Brandon welcomes council vote

At a council planning meeting yesterday, councillors refused an application for two wind turbines in Fleggburgh. The controversial plan submitted by Amber Real Estates for land at the Poultry Farm in Mill Lane, was narrowly defeated by six votes to five. When Amber Real Estates submitted the plans earlier this year, I made an official objection on behalf of residents. You can find out more about my reasons, from this news post at the time.
