Benefit cap provides fairer welfare

I welcome the Government’s victory in passing the Welfare Reform Bill, which ensures that no family can get more in benefits than the average working family earns.  Under the reforms, the benefit payments that a household on out of work benefits will be capped at £26,000 per year so that work always pays. Over 70 charities have responded to the invitation to attend my charity conference on 4th November. The event will allow charities in Great Yarmouth to share best practice, and to learn about opportunities to access cash from the Big Lottery and the Norfolk Community Foundation.
