Last week I was given a tour of the Louise Hamilton Centre in the grounds of the James Paget Hospital. The £1.5 million centre is working with a long list of partners including The Big C and the Alzheimers Society to provide a single access point for patients.
I saw the wide range of facilities on offer to patients with palliative care needs, from clinical care to psychological support and complementary therapies. The centre aims to be able to assist patients, carers and families coping with a wide range of conditions, including cancer, heart disease and stroke.
The Louise Hamilton Centre is an impressive new provider for palliative care in our area. The dedication of the staff and management at the Centre will be a real asset to Great Yarmouth and I look forward to seeing them progress even further in the future.
