Earlier this year I highlighted the need for Great Yarmouth and the wider Norfolk area to benefit from the Olympics next year in London. At the same time, I want local people to feel part of the games even if they are not attending.
It is great news that the Olympic flame is coming to Norfolk and Great Yarmouth. The flame will pass through over one-thousand villages, towns and cities across the country on a mammoth 70-day relay. It will arrive in Norfolk on 4th July, before going through Acle and Filby on route to Great Yarmouth the following day.
Details are not confirmed yet but we will out the street-by-street route in the New Year. It will be a wonderful opportunity for Great Yarmouth to show everything it has to offer to a global audience and to celebrate a once in a lifetime occasion.
