Norwich closer to City Deal funding

I was very pleased to hear that Norwich is one step closer to being granted funding from the government through the new City Deal.  The partnership between Norwich City Council, South Norfolk Council, Broadland District Council and Norfolk County Council with the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership have lobbied the government for money to invest in Norwich Research Park.  This funding will help to bring new jobs to the area, both at the Research Park in the short term and through subsidiary industries who look to capitalise on the high quality research and training at the Park.

Greater Norwich Development Partnership have run a fantastic campaign, which has really captured the imagination of government ministers and civil servants.  This could be a fantastic opportunity for residents of Great Yarmouth as the increase in funding for hi-tech engineering projects will feed into our expanding energy market, further cementing Great Yarmouth as the place to come for offshore energy companies.  I wrote to the government in support of the bid when it was first launched and I am delighted that their hard work will pay off to the benefit of residents across Norfolk.
