I am encouraging people to nominate their favourite pub in Great Yarmouth for the prestigious title of Parliamentary Pub of The Year. The main criteria for nomination are that the pub should be ‘great at what they do’, for example:
• Offer a range of beers and a food menu including (where possible) classic British pub food;
• Have been nominated for or won an industry award for the pub or an aspect of your business relevant to visitors (beer range, warm welcome, food offer, beer garden, customer service) including local, regional or national tourist awards or local newspaper awards.
• Offer the warmest of welcomes throughout the year
• Have helped put their community/village/town/city on the map – as a participant in pub walks, ale trails, tourist guides
• Range of beer
• Range of food
• Community contribution
A panel of judges will assess the nominations in each category and will choose the finalists who will be invited to an event in Parliament later in the year where the winner of the Parliamentary Pub of the Year will be announced.
We are fortunate to have a number of fantastic pubs throughout Great Yarmouth providing a high-quality service for residents and visitors all year round. This award is a brilliant chance for you to nominate your favourite pub to receive recognition for the excellent service they provide, and I’d encourage as many people as possible to put their best-loved local up for the Parliamentary Pub of the Year award.
Please nominate your favourite pub by emailing the name and location of the pub, together with a short sentence as to why you think this should be the Parliamentary Pub of the Year to firstname.lastname@example.org by 6pm on Friday 28 September.
