The public meeting, to allow local residents to question representatives from Great Yarmouth Borough Council and Norfolk County Council, has been set for Monday 21st November at the Pavillion Theatre in Gorleston starting at 6.30pm.
I have organised this, following a meeting with residents earlier in the summer. I know how strongly many people feel about various issues surrounding the pier. This is an opportunity for people to express their concerns and to ask detailed questions about these issues.
Anne Edwards, the editor of our popular local newspaper the Great Yarmouth Mercury, has kindly agreed to chair the meeting. Attending will be Steve Ames, Leader of the Council and Richard Packham Managing Director, both from the borough council. Graham Plant, the councillor responsible for planning and transport at the county council will join them.
With so many people having passionate views on this issue, I hope it will be a constructive meeting for the people of Gorleston; where they are able to voice their concerns about the pier. Questions can be sent to the Town Hall in advance.
No advance notice of your attendance is required, but I would recommend that you arrive early to guarantee a seat.
