Unemployment fell by 2% in Great Yarmouth between February and March this year. This was the largest decrease in the area, with 84 claimants leaving the register.
This is good news for local people. There is still, of course, a great deal of work to be done as Great Yarmouth is still the 8th highest ranked local authority for unemployment. The rising number of apprenticeships being taken up, added to the increasing popularity of the area with the energy sector, will help secure long-term and sustainable employment for residents – especially young people.
