At a council planning meeting yesterday, councillors refused an application for two wind turbines in Fleggburgh. The controversial plan submitted by Amber Real Estates for land at the Poultry Farm in Mill Lane, was narrowly defeated by six votes to five.
When Amber Real Estates submitted the plans earlier this year, I made an official objection on behalf of residents. You can find out more about my reasons, from this news post at the time.
Congratulations to local residents for this initial victory. Thanks must go to Maureen Mitchell who co-ordinated the effort locally. It is likely the applicants will appeal so we need to keep up the pressure. Let us hope, as with other recent local appeals, the planning inspector rejects this plan.
