It was a sell-out evening at the Albion pub in Gorleston on Friday evening as teams gathered for my pub quiz in support of the East Coast Hospice. The numbers present demonstrated how this great local charity is so important to local people, who want to see an in-patient hospice built for the Great Yarmouth area.
The teams battled it out answering a range of both easy and tough questions on topics as diverse as food and drink and history. The evening was an opportunity to put political differences aside, with the eventual winners (by just half-a-point) being the team led by UKIP County Councillor Rex Parkinson-Hare.
A big thank you to Jonathan, landlord at the Albion, and his team for their warm hospitality. Several businesses helped make the evening a success by sponsoring individual quiz rounds or donating prizes. Thank you to:
• BWell Gyms
• Jesters Diner
• Merrivale Model Village
• The Pleasure Beach
• The Seafood Restaurant
• Tesco Great Yarmouth
• The Yankee Traveller
Update We have now added up all the money from Friday evening and we now know that we raised £800 for the East Coast Hospice. Once again, thank you for everyone who came along to support the event.
