A reminder that there are now less than 100 days to go until TV viewers in the Great Yarmouth area begin the switchover to digital television on 9th November. From the second stage on 23rd November, all homes across the Anglia region will be digital.
Digital UK, who manages the switchover process, believes nine out of ten households are already converted to digital TV. Although you may be prepared for switchover, maybe you know family, friends or neighbours (particularly the elderly or disable) who are not. There is a help scheme, run by the BBC, that can assist these groups switchover. . For £40 (or free for those on certain income-related benefits) every eligible person will be offered practical help to convert one of their TV sets to digital including equipment, installation and aftercare. People are eligible if: they are aged 75 years and over; or they have lived in a care home for six months or more; or they are registered blind or partially sighted or get (or could get) certain disability benefits.
If you know someone whom would benefit from this assistance then find out more details at: www.helpscheme.co.uk.
