This week I signed up to support Carers Week 2011 which takes place from 13 – 19 June. Carers Week aims to highlight and celebrate the achievements of carers whose work often goes unnoticed in the community.
There are literally millions of carers across the UK who play a vital role in the day-to-day lives of so many ill, frail or disabled people. Without the hard work and dedication of so many carers in the country there would be significant pressure on our health service to support those who require help on a daily basis.
It is because of this that I have signed up to the campaign. It is important carers receive the support and recognition they deserve as well as the knowledge that assistance is available to enable people to continue with this.
