Brandon Lewis welcomes massive fall in Great Yarmouth unemployment

Figures released by the House of Commons Library show that unemployment has fallen in Great Yarmouth once again.

989 fewer Great Yarmouth residents claimed unemployment benefits last month than in March 2013 – a fall of over 24%.

I am absolutely delighted by today’s news that unemployment in Great Yarmouth is falling with the national trend. This month there are 989 more people in our area who are taking home a pay packet and providing for their families. The Government has stuck to its long term economic plan and, with the news that wages have risen faster than prices for the first time in years, this plan is paying off. There is, of course, a great deal more to do, but this further fall in unemployment will reassure Great Yarmouth residents that our economic plan is working.
