A casino is not gamble for Great Yarmouth

Local councillors face an enormous decision in the coming months, as they consider whether to award a casino contract for the town. A large-scale casino will attract new visitors and create extra jobs, further boosting our local tourist industry. There is an opportunity to make Great Yarmouth a destination outside the normal tourism season. More importantly, we can get ahead of our competitors by building a new style of casino not seen elsewhere in this country.

Understandably, some people are concerned about the social impact of gaming on both individuals and the local community. Those issues can be tackled, as I outlined in an article last week, so that we gain the economic benefit in the town.
